A workshop at this year’s Scottish Dental Show will enhance understanding of the orthodontic therapist’s role in mouth cancer detection.

The session will offer practical insights on identifying signs and symptoms, integrating early detection strategies into clinical practice and emphasising effective communication and multidisciplinary collaboration.

It will also cover the significance of timely referrals and collaborative efforts to enhance patient care, drawing on recent research and best practices.

The workshop will be hosted by Joycee Rebelo, Orthodontic Therapist and Committee Member of The Orthodontic National Group.

A graduate of the University of Bristol and qualified in Orthodontic Therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Joycee has gained invaluable experience in both NHS and private orthodontics, developing a holistic understanding of how innovative practices can enhance patient outcomes.
