The role of Artificial Intelligence in preventative oral health care

The latest developments in preventive dental health using artificial intelligence (AI) will be outlined at the Scottish Dental Show.

Dr Ben Atkins, past president of the Oral Health Foundation, will give a lecture on AI at the show on Friday 20 June.

Attendees will be briefed on the breakthroughs in dental imaging using AI and on how to improve their own diagnosis.

Booking for the Scottish Dental Show’s education programme is now open, providing delegates with the opportunity to earn up to 10 hours of CPD.

The programme features all of the GDC’s recommended and highly recommended topics:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Disinfection and decontamination
  • Radiography and radiation protection
  • Legal and ethical issues
  • Complaints handling
  • Oral cancer: early detection
  • Safeguarding children and young people
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults.

It also features lectures and workshops on clinical expertise, dental education, wellbeing and sustainability – plus, the business and finances of dentistry.
