Omayma Siddig is presenting and update on Endodontics for 2026 on Saturday 12 June.

An update on the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) S3-level clinical practice guidelines, with a focus on diagnosis and the therapeutic approaches required to deal with patients with pulpitis and apical periodontitis, will be provided at the Scottish Dental Show 2026.

The lecture, presented by Dr Omayma Siddig, Clinical Teaching Fellow at the Aberdeen Dental Institute, is designed for general dental practitioners in both the NHS and the private sector.

Participants will be provided with a review of the key recommendations from the European Society of Endodontology S3-level clinical practice guidelines relating to the diagnosis of pulpitis and apical periodontitis.

And they will be guided on the evidence-based therapeutic approaches for managing pulpitis and apical periodontitis in both NHS and private practice settings.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Apply S3-level guideline recommendations to accurately diagnose pulpitis and apical periodontitis using clinical and radiographic findings.
  • Formulate appropriate, patient-centred treatment plans (including vital pulp therapy and root canal treatment) based on current evidence.
  • Integrate updated endodontic protocols into everyday general practice to improve clinical outcomes and decision-making.
