BSPD and Dental Trauma UK announce new collaboration to support clinicians
Reflects a shared commitment to improving the oral health, wellbeing and clinical outcomes of children and young people
The British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD) and Dental Trauma UK (DTUK) have announced a formal collaboration.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving the oral health, wellbeing and clinical outcomes of children and young people. By bringing together expertise in paediatric dentistry and dental trauma, BSPD and DTUK will work together to share knowledge, promote best practice and support clinical decision making.
As part of the agreement, BSPD members will receive free membership to Dental Trauma UK, benefiting from access to a range of clinical and educational resources for continuing professional development, including access to the Dental Trauma Guide. These resources will support BSPD Members in delivering high‑quality care, strengthening professional networks and promoting excellence in the management of dental trauma.
In addition to enhanced access to learning materials, the partnership will create new opportunities for joint initiatives, shared expertise and collaborative projects aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people who experience dental injuries.
Dr Shannu Bhatia, BSPD Past President, said: “BSPD is committed to supporting clinicians with the knowledge and confidence they need to care for children and young people who experience dental trauma.
“This collaboration with Dental Trauma UK strengthens that commitment by giving our members enhanced access to high‑quality educational resources, international guidelines and new opportunities for shared learning. By working together, we can help ensure that dental teams feel supported, connected and equipped to deliver excellent care.”
Dr Serpil Djemal, Founder Chair of Dental Trauma UK, said: “We are delighted to formalise our collaboration with BSPD. DTUK has always championed accessible, evidence‑based education for clinicians managing dental trauma, and partnering with BSPD allows us to extend that support even further.
“Together, we can broaden access to trusted resources, foster stronger professional networks and promote best practice across the UK. Ultimately, this partnership is about improving outcomes for children and young people, and we are proud to be working alongside BSPD to achieve that.”
This collaboration demonstrates the value of professional organisations working together to advance dental education, support clinicians and improve care for children and young people.
