Fiona Ellwood, Dental Nurse and Executive Director of the Society of British Dental Nurses, will be exploring the profession’s use of social media at the Scottish Dental Show 2026.
Her talk Step into the reality behind the filters: from AI-generated deception to professionalism under pressure will look at the good, the bad and the ugly of social media.
It will underline the importance of being a responsible and ethical social media user and “to be aware of the Bots.”
Participants will be guided on what it means to be a responsible and ethical social media user, on how to critically evaluate the impact of social media, sharing good and bad practice, on what improvements they can make in the workplace and beyond and be empowered to become an ethical social media and Bot navigator advocate.
By the end of the session they will be able to recognise the good, the bad and the ugly of social media and the need to consider Bots and algorithms in an effort to advocate as a safe engager.
