It is the first time a facility of its kind has been developed by a dental service organisation in Scotland and to mark its launch, this week Clyde Munro welcomed 15 BDS – 3rd & 5th year dental students from the University of Aberdeen.

Facility features a nine-station simulation clinic with phantom heads.

The £1m high-tech facility has been meticulously planned to deliver hands-on clinical training as well as classroom-based work. It features a nine-station simulation clinic with phantom heads for dental professionals to hone their skills. The facility features equipment from Dentsply Sirona, including Xios®, the latest x-ray technology, and CBCT: Orthophos®, a dental CT scanner that produces 3D images of teeth, soft tissue, nerves and bone in one singular scan.

The centre will be used by teams across Clyde Munro and will allow clinicians, nursing and support staff to benefit from a range of courses and to learn from world-class speakers and lecturers on a range of topics.

The launch of the centre underlines Clyde Munro’s commitment to the adoption of innovative technologies to deliver the best in clinical care.
