Brexit staff shortage warning
Shortages of skilled workers in Scotland across key sectors of the economy such as health and social care will be made worse after Brexit, Migration Minister Ben Macpherson has said.
The warning forms part of the Scottish Government’s recent submission to the UK Government’s Migration Advisory Committee about occupations officially classed as suffering from staff shortage.
The Scottish Government published evidence on a range of sectors, including a report focused on issues facing health and social care. As yet, dentistry is not among the professions listed but professional bodies are keeping a watchful eye in case that situation changes.
