Transparent silicone for the injection moulding technique
ClearForm X by SHOFU is a highly transparent VPS silicone (vinyl polysiloxane) for the injection moulding technique. This material fills the gap between the planning and the actual creation of composite restorations: Tooth forms pre-designed in wax-ups or mock-ups can be precisely replicated using composites, without any room for interpretation and with minimal effort.
In dental practices, ClearForm X can be used to make precise silicone indexes for composite veneers or provisional crowns and bridges. In dental laboratories, it can serve as a transfer matrix for digital and analogue wax-ups, helping users to replicate the planned morphology with a composite in a form-guided technique – without the need to freely sculpt the entire anatomy. Its main benefit is a crystal-clear view.
Full transparency means full control – from exact positioning to bubble-free injection and light-curing through the material. This visual guidance considerably increases process reliability, especially in complex direct restorations of multiple teeth.
The sophisticated formulation follows the function: The specific thixotropy ensures stability during application, while allowing the material to flow into the finest details under pressure. So, even intricate surfaces can be precisely reproduced. Thanks to its Shore A hardness of 65, this silicone offers the necessary stability and dimensional accuracy, but at the same time it is sufficiently elastic for stress-free removal. And the 50-ml cartridges make application precise, easy and clean.
In combination with injectable materials, such as BEAUTIFIL Flow Plus X, dentists can create restorations closely resembling indirect composite veneers in appearance – with the aid of a technique that consumes much less time and helps to maximally preserve the healthy tooth structure. Dental technicians can combine the product with CERAMAGE UP to efficiently, reproducibly and profitably turn wax-up-based concepts into highly aesthetic results.
The extraoral setting time on a model is approximately three minutes at 23°C, so there will be enough time for precise positioning and controlled injection moulding. ClearForm X thus complements workflow-oriented treatment concepts wherever planning, transfer and completion need to be well-matched.
