Michael Matheson to officially open the Scottish Dental Show
Public Health Minister Michael Matheson MSP has confirmed his attendance at the inaugural Scottish Dental Show, to be held at Hampden Park on 24 and 25 May.
The minister will officially open the new event on Thursday, 24 May, before handing over to Edinburgh GDP and former president of the General Dental Council, Hew Mathewson, who will give the welcoming address.
Mr Matheson, who has the portfolio responsibility for dentistry, is a former community occupational therapist with Stirling Council, Central Region Council and Highland Regional Council.
He was elected as a regional MSP for Central Scotland in 1999 and in 2007 he was elected as the MSP for Falkirk West.

He is married with three sons and, away from politics, he is a keen mountaineer, which has seen him travel as far as the Western Himalayas and the Alps. He is also a member of the Ochils Mountain Rescue Team, and enjoys running, mountain biking, skiing and football.
